Never respond to an e-mail or phone call requesting your personal financial information.
Shred preapproved credit card offers and all documents with your personal information.
Don't leave outgoing mail in an unsecured mailbox at your home or office.
When ordering checks, pick them up at the bank rather than risk having them mailed to you.
Pay attention to the billing cycles of your bills. Call your creditors if your bills don't arrive on time.
