Use a Computer

To use a computer, we ask that patrons have a library account in good standing (no fines or overdue materials). Patrons under the age of 16 need a parent's signature. Patrons may call the library (585-492-1297) to reserve computer time (up to an hour) or just stop in when we're open.

The library currently offers ten computers for public use, four of which are provided through the generosity of the Yorkshire-Pioneer School District taxpayers. Internet access on these machines is filtered for content. We also have one computer dedicated to our on-line card catalog.

Visitors from out-of-town may supply a copy of their driver's license to use our computers. We also have an internet Hot Spot for your convenience. You can bring your own laptop and sign in using your library card. Or you may stop at the desk for a guest pass.

Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Microsoft Publisher and Access are available. There is also a resume wizard included in Microsoft Word.

Friends of the Arcade Free Library

The Arcade Free Library has an active and supportive Friends group. The Friends offer three very special fund-raising events throughout the year:
.
THEME BASKET AUCTION - Late in May the Friends hold a "Theme-Basket Auction." Dozens of baskets, loaded with "goodies," are donated by members of the community. Lots of fun!
BOOK SALES - The annual July used- book sale is held the Saturday after July 4th between the hours of 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM.   Bags for the 3pm "Bag Sale" are provided by the Friends and are $3.00 each.
The Annual Winterfest Weekend used book sale is held each February during Arcade's Winterfest celebaration. Adult and children's hard cover and paper back books are sold as well as audio books and videos when available.
